Arrow Sanitary has been providing garbage service to Portland residences and businesses since 1956. Oregon Paper Fiber began recycling cardboard boxes for Fred Meyer stores in the 1960’s by returning produce boxes from the store back to the area farmers for reuse.
Oregon Paper Fiber joined Arrow Sanitary in the 1970’s to provide a strong recycling component to Arrow’s commercial services. In 1998, Arrow Sanitary merged with Waste Connections, Inc. While Arrow Sanitary remains a locally run company we benefit from the support of a larger corporation. In 2008 Arrow Sanitary & Oregon Paper Fiber diverted 36,700 tons of recyclables, compost, and yard debris from the landfill.
